A perfect balance of play and learning

Toddler Classes

Our toddler care in Dallas, Texas is designed for children aged 18 months to three years, focusing on fostering independence, creativity, and skill development. This crucial stage in your child’s life is marked by exploration and a desire for discovery, and our program provides the perfect balance of structure and freedom to support their growth.

The Community School of the Park Cities has two toddler rooms with children ranging in age from 18 months to three years old. The toddlers follow a group schedule which includes circle time, center playtime, creative art, and other seasonal projects. The toddlers also have a weekly lesson plan which follows a theme created to help the children learn more about topics that they are interested in, as well as helping them to build more skills.

Toddlers are still babies in many ways, but they want very much to “do it myself.” Age-appropriate activities utilizing thematic units are offered to encourage the development of basic skills, including letter, number, and shape recognition. The toddlers also have plenty of time to choose activities both inside and outside.

Throughout their time in the toddler room, the toddler teachers structure activities to help them meet the specific developmental milestones for their age group.

Benefits of the Toddler Care Program

Choosing professional toddler care offers numerous benefits for both you and your growing child.

Fostering Independence: Toddlers are eager to do things on their own. Our program supports this by offering activities that promote self-confidence and independence, such as dressing themselves and making simple choices during playtime.

Developing Social Skills: Through group activities and guided play, toddlers learn to share, communicate, and cooperate with others, which are all essential skills for their emotional and social development.

Encouraging Creative Expression: We believe in the importance of creativity at this stage. Our toddler program includes a variety of arts and crafts, as well as sensory activities that help toddlers express themselves and develop their fine motor skills.

Supporting Cognitive Development: Our thematic lessons focus on early concepts like shapes, letters, numbers, and colors. These activities support cognitive skills and prepare your toddler for future learning experiences.

Outdoor Exploration: Toddlers love to explore, and our program includes plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. Whether playing on our playground or going on short walks, these experiences help toddlers develop gross motor skills and explore their environment in new ways.
